LSD... Loudspeaker System Design (coming soon)
LSD is the result of over 10 years of learning. I originally started creating LSD on a Commodore 128! (I still have the code if anyone is interested ). LSD has evolved over the years...
If you have any experience with speaker designing software, you know most are clumsy when it comes to changing drivers with the same box or comparing the same driver to different system types (closed, vented etc.). Usually you have to start a new project with each driver or a new project just to see how your driver will perform in different system types. And don't forget you have to manually type in box volume and/or port tuning each time just so you can see what each change will do.
NOT ANYMORE!
These are the reasons why I have made LSD...
Once a driver is loaded, You can instantly change to 4 different box types to see which suits your needs.
Just click "Vb" or "Fb" labels and you can then adjust in real time box volume and tuning frequency, without typing. Same goes for Fe and Q of filters. No more tedious trial and error sessions.
Sliders available:
Sealed Box: Vb, Qtc
Vented Box: Vb, Fb
4th Order Bandpass: Vb, Vbf, Fbf
6th Order Bandpass: Vb, Vbf, Fb, Fbf
Filters: Fe, Q
Driver Tab: Rg, Ma, Pe (Qts, Fs, Vas, Xmax for "what if" testing)
LSD also models the effects of added cone mass, added circuit resistance, multiple drivers, multiple ports, multiple high/low pass filters (up to 10th order, with inverting capability) and more!
LSD has a current file size of about 568KB!
I must stop. Brief description done for now...
Driver Database consists of over 2400 Drivers with a file size of only 275KB!
Let's say you have a 2ft3 box already built, ready for a 12" sub.
Select Sealed box, type in "2" in Vb text box
Now, which driver?... Open the database. Turn on "Filter", select 12 from "Size" drop-down menu. Check "Auto Load". Now, whenever you click on a driver in the driver list, it will automatically update LSD, retaining your box size! Using the keyboard cursor arrows instead of clicking is faster still!
Full skinning capability with LSD's own Skin Creator!
OK now it is time for a website, too much to put here!
LSD sound interesting? Stick around for more news in the near future!
